Worked Well Until Drain Pump Failed

Worked well until drain pump stopped working near the end of the 1 year warranty period. Makes noise but doesn't drain. Machine was used only once a week or less, and cleaned regularly. This is frustrating especially since I picked this machine in reliance on all the positive reviews of its reliability.

We've used this washer for a variety of loads. We haven't tried all of the cycles yet, but use the stain cycle for an item and it came out very well. Though smaller than our last unit, it's definitely suitable for a household of 3. It's much quieter than our previous front loader.

Defective, won't replace

We got this washer in December, and it hasn't drained properly since day one. It leaves soap and water in the cloths at the end of the cycle. It took 2 months for Bosch to send a repair person. They did not have the parts they needed to fix it. They sent the parts to us a few weeks later, where they sat in our apartement for another 4 months (one of the boxes was bigger than the washer itself). They cancelled numerous appointments in that time frame. Yesterday, 6 months later, they finally sent someone else. They spent 3 hours doing repairs and then left without trying a laundry cycle. Of course, the same problem is happening. I called again this morning and they scheduled another service call for 6 weeks out. I don't know if we just got a deffective machine and they are refusing to replace it or if they are all terrible. Either way I would never suggest buying this machine. Bosch's customer service was aweful. Each time I called, we had to start from scratch, sending them all of the purchase information, explain the problem, and try to convince them that this was not the first time calling. We sent photos and videos, but they were not willing to accept that there was a problem without sending a technician. The technicians were unwilling to wait for a laundry cycle to complete to see the problem.

Although our previous Bosch compact washer lasted 11 years, we (foolishly) decided to replace it with a cheaper LG washer. After several issues, we sent it back a month later and went back to Bosch. It's still the best compact washer on the market. (Btw - the Bosch dryer next to it is 11 years old, and still going strong)

Keep in mind this washing machine has been in use for about one month, so, my opinion a few years from now might be different, I don't bother with the wi-fi function since I am retired and am not pressed for time, There are a lot of options to wash your clothes, which can initially be confusing. I like that it is quiet, even during the high spin cycle. I had an older Bosch washing machine that bit the dust after 9 years. Time will tell how this one holds out. So far, so good.

I appreciate this opportunity to share my "honest thoughts" about our newly purchased Bosch washer and dryer. Though each unit is quite lovely in appearance-both models are far too electronically sophisticated with superfluous features we will never use. There's something to be said for the elegance, simplicity and reliability of the older Bosch washer and dryer we owned with their manual buttons and simple choices. Temperature: cold, warm, hot. Spin Speed: low, medium, high. Dryer: damp, dry, very dry. I understand the motivation to remain a step ahead of the competition, but some of these new electronic features are downright silly. Why not save money and manufacture a reliable appliance with fewer bells and whistles? Most of these new features are not important to consumers. I apologize for sending you such negative feedback, but feel strongly about these issues and thank you for providing this forum to share our thoughts.

This is my second Bosch appliance. Unfortunately it was all we could get in a timely manner because it was a scratch & dent washer. I can't say I'm impressed. Setting the spin cycle on high still creates wetter clothes than it should. That makes the dryer work longer to dry them. No more Bosch!

There's water leaking out of the bottom of the washer. The supply hoses aren't leaking. The drain hose isn't leaking. And yet there's water on the floor under the washer. It's less than a month old. Customer service works really hard to makecsure you can't contact them.

I have had this washer with the companion dryer for 5 months and am very satisfied with its performance. Prior to purchasing the Bosch Series 500, I had purchased a similar Whirlpool compact washer and dryer. Within 3 months the washer showed a fault code which was unable to be corrected for over 2 months. I did a bit more research and found this to be common with Whirlpool and that the Bosch units were much better. That has proven to be true for me.

While I'm very happy with the size of the washer, something to consider if you have a king size bed is the sheets will need to be separated into two loads (unless you have very thin sheets). There are soap suds on the door bushing which needs to be wiped down before removing cloths else could be picked up by the clean clothes.

Due to the pandemic and the inefficiency of the first big box I ordered the machine from, I waited 7 months. But I didn't want any other brand. This machine cleans well, the options are clearly displayed, quiet, and I hope long-lasting like my previous machine. I only wish it spun clothes dry more than it does.

We like to compact size of the washer. That said, we do wish there was a way for the drum to be slightly larger. The washer does do a great job of getting clothes clean. It does benefit from a stable floor surface. We have a drain pan in the washer location - no longer required - that does not provide a great surface for the compact machine. We will be removing the drain pan to address this. We do like the various wash options. While somewaht unnecessary they do help us decide which cycle we choose for each type of wash.

If I could give no stars I would, I have had 2 sets of these for two different homes. Both had dryer issues with the pump. One was kind of fixed and the other not at all. Bosch does not stand behind their products. I wil never ever buy another Bosch product!!
