Works well with busy cooking multiple things

I waited until Thanksgiving to see if this worked to my satisfaction. It worked fine with multiple projects going on. The timer is a bit confusing because there are several steps to set it which takes a while to get used to. The timer buzzer is almost inaudible if there is any noise going on in the kitchen, even turning it to loud. The Tools I didn't find easy to navigate; maybe with time they will become easier.

This is a great double oven!

Great unit, but steam problem causes short

We have an entire suite of KitchenAid products, and we really like the way they look and function. However, we have experienced the same oven issue that many others have, and it's a design problem. The steam created in the upper oven escapes directly below the control keypad, where it condenses and creates a short, causing the oven to shut off and the keypad to display the F2E1 error code. We initially thought it was a problem with the keypad, so that has been replaced, as has the gasket seal around the door of the upper oven. It still happens. You can work around it by not cooking anything that gives off a lot of steam (a tray of potatoes, for example) in the upper oven, but in a unit of this price, you really shouldn't have to do that. The lower oven never experiences this problem, so you have to use that instead. Other than that, happy with the unit, and it has held up over time.

I've been using it for 3 weeks. I didn't read the instructions but I'm not impressed yet. If you use the timer the ovens turns off after time runs out. This is annoying because I have to go through the cycle to turn it in again. It takes a higher temperature to brown potatoes on convection. That wasn't the case with my old kitchen aid convection oven. My cake didn't rise on the bottom. Now that never happened before. Not sure what to make of it. Maybe I have to adjust the way I cook. But they sure look good in my kitchen...lol. Would I recommend not sure yet!

love this oven

I have not used all of the features on this double oven, but so far I love it. Each oven has a rack that slides out easily to life your pan off of and the light is so bright that you can easily see how your dish is cooking and how brown the top of your casserole is getting. I love my Kitchenaid double oven and would by it again in a heart beat.

Converted a microwave/oven combo to double ovens. Had to modify the cabinet a bit but so worth it! Love the easy convection conversion feature and the racks slide out smooth as silk. Black stainless looks very nice and may prompt me to finally get a new refrigerator too!

Great Looking Oven!!

Great Oven So Far

So far it has been an amazing upgrade from my old oven. First thing I noticed is the preheat time is about half as much as it was to get the oven up to 450 degrees. 25 minutes vs 45 minutes. The sliding rack should be on every oven. My only complaint would be to offer the interior in blue as on the regular stainless version.

Love this oven!!

I bought this unit as a replacement for my Kitchenaid double oven, which had served me faithfully for 22 years. I was unprepared for how beautiful and fully featured my new ovens were. The fans are so quiet, the controls are easy to understand, the oven interiors are much larger than my old ovens, and even after long use, the outside of the glass door is cool to the touch. I'm in love!

Broiler defective

I have an 05 model double oven. Still looks like new and we cook a lot. A few years ago I noticed the broiler was not working very well on one oven. Only one element was glowing red. I forgot to do anything about it, as we don't broil that often. Today, I am cleaning the oven. I decided to remove the upper element to have good access to the upper oven surface. When I removed the element I discovered only 3 wires were attached to the clips. The fourth wire is missing. This explains why only half of the broiler element heats, and is obviously a factory defect. I'm reluctant to call for repairs, as it may involve removing the entire oven from the wall to correct what I should not have to pay for. Please give me some advice!

Use the convection feature

Pros: Lots of space, convection, good lighting. Cons: Since there is only a heating element on the top of each stove, many standard recipe cooking times will be too short unless you use convection. So you really have to use convection or guess how much time you will need to add to most recipes. We have had several times where it seems like one of the doors doesn't fully close, and the temperature display doesn't change and there are no "door open" indicators. We open the door, and even though the temp still may show 300, it is a cool oven. A door open indicator would resolve this. We just make sure to really push the doors closed very well and haven't had issues since. There is only 1 oven light, so if you are only using 1 oven and need the light on, it will be on in both ovens. Not really a big deal but thought it was a little funny with all the other nice features this oven has. Overall, the style, tons of space, and convection make this hard to beat. It was exactly what we wanted, and aside from a couple things, it is intuitive to use.

This is my third KitchenAid double oven in over 20 yrs. First two excellent. This new 1 year old has disappointed me. Decided to make a pumpkin pie and placed in bottom oven and the liquid inside the crust ended on the tray beneath the pie. The bottom shelf is crooked. Also I noticed the interior glass on the bottom oven has a stain inside the glass. Called my installer and company where purchased. They cannot do anything. I'm so very disappointed in KitchenAid will not recommend. I asked installer if contacting KitchenAid would help he said probably not..very disappointed!!!!

Very Disppointed

We purchased all KitchenAid products for our new home in November 2016 and are happy with all of them except for the 30" Double Wall Oven. Since we moved into our home in May 2017 we are now waiting on our second panel replacement. Before Thanksgiving I was using both ovens at one time and received an error code on the display panel. It was still under the factory warranty at that time and thus I received a replacement panel. However, in February it happened again worse than the first time with a code error F1E0. I was roasting in the top oven at 425 and had nothing in the lower oven and about 20 minutes into my roasting time the same error code appeared. I canceled the top oven and tried to start the lower oven to finish my roasting time and once it started heating it kept throwing the code on the panel. Then I could only get it to reset by turning the wall breaker off and back on and leave both ovens off until it cooled completely. It was very alarming that it seemed to have a mind of its on going thru settings and wouldn't cancel until I turned the main breaker off. I am now waiting another panel which is on back order. It seems the heat and condensation come up into the panel thus causing the error code. This has happened when I set the top oven to 425 or 450 or use both ovens at one time (top at 425 and the lower at 350). It seems fine if you use only the lower oven when baking over 350. However, this is a double oven and the reason I purchased it is to use both at the same time if needed. Like a previous review from Brian P a month ago, I may have just received a bad unit but now that I'm on my second panel I'm beginning to think it's a venting design issue. Thankful we purchased an extended warranty for all our appliances.
